the half through2023
Is time an illusion? The performers in the performance „the half through“ deal with this question. This year‘s theme of the project 3RD-SPC./RP is „time dilation“. In exploring the movements from this point of view, the performers deal with questions of hope, fate, acceptance and relief. A vocabulary of admiration emerges through which their own positioning on the football field is formed. Martin Pfeifle‘s installation deconstructs the football field, creating a stage space of its own that is used by the performers as a place for seekers and stranded people. As a way of sharing physicality and queerness, not as usual through a ball to play with, but through rituals of steps and rhythm.

In this linguistic gesture, when it is used as an instrument, when everyone sings together „Is there anybody out there?”

With the kind support of the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Kunststiftung NRW as well as the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Cultural Office of the City of Kraljevica, we are gathering 20 international participants living in the EU, who will realise their projects and programmes at the two locations, the Frankopan Castle in Kraljevica from 21.07.2023 - 20.08.2023 and the Breuer Höfe area in Wuppertal from 06.10.2023 - 04.11.2023.
