Daniela Georgieva is originally from Bulgaria and now lives and works in Düsseldorf. Since her master’s studies in the class of A. R. Penck at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, she has worked in the fields of visual art, music, performance, and dance. She has presented solo exhibitions and solo projects but also participated in numerous group exhibitions at venues such as the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen Düsseldorf, and the Amerikahaus München. She received the City of Düsseldorf’s advancement award in 2009, a scholarship from the Akademie der Künste Berlin in Olevano, Italy, in 2012. Since 2016, Daniela Georgieva has focused exclusively on dance and performance art and created mostly solo pieces and original choreographies. She has also worked as a lecturer for performance and gender and the Peter Behrens School of Arts in Düsseldorf since 2017. She and her dance colleague Hugo Le Brigand have created choreographies and founded the KOROLL association together.
